Merry Christmas!

Here is a gift I made for my dear cousin KatiƬ. It was inspired by Brittney Lee. This was my first attempt at creating something out of paper cut-outs, but I think I did okay considering all I had was foam paper and bulky scissors to work with. lol.

I put it in a shadow box before I gave it to her, but I didn't take of picture of that. lol.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

My scans are horrible and washed out, so I might rescan them or something later. But anyways, here are a few pages from my sketchbook I kept this past summer. The good. The bad. The ugly.

So, last Saturday I got to participate in a pretty awesome event. I was a guest artist for TOMS "Style Your Sole" event in Berkley. It was such an honor to be chosen and a great experience. What would happen is, people would walk in the store, buy a pair of TOMS and if they chose to, bring them out to one of us set up outside of the store and have us paint a design of their choosing on their new shoes for free! I have to say, I dunno if I would be that trusting to have a stranger paint on my brand, spankin' new TOMS, but I'm glad others were. lol. It was so much fun and I look forward to working more of these events. :)

Hello everyone. :) This is just a silly design I came up with last night and decided to work on it today. It's based off of the wonderful Tommy Pickles and how he always used his screwdriver to get him and his gang out of their playpen. haha. I loved that cartoon growing up. lol.

T-shirt!

Hey Guys! This is my latest attempt at a t-shirt design. It is my first of 3 finished t-shirt designs I have on my summer to-do list. It' s based off one of my favorite movies, The Sandlot. Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez. He puts his P.F. Flyers on to defeat the beast. :)

Spring 2012 Semester Officially Complete!!

Literally just got out of my laaaast final, 3d animation. Woah, was it a long night working on getting this final reel complete....but I did it and I have to say I am very proud of what I accomplished this semester with my Maya class. I am not tech savvy at all, but I'm proud of my little reel. lol.

Forest, take two!

Ahhh!! My second time taking 113b, and it was worth it to take it again. I have to say I learned a lot the first time around, but this semester was far more successful and I learned even more. I just need to learn to put the pedal to the metal ALL semester, but I'm getting there! Lol.

These are the two forests I have been working on from the concept to the final product for about a month. If you look at my portfolio post, you can see the line work with a few thumbnails on a couple of the pages. I learned so much from working on these, they are not rendered like the assignment called for, but I was pleased with where I got. I learned so much about reflections and lighting and color and composition and atmospheric perspective. It was wonderful. haha.

I turned these bad boys in with the intent of never touching them again, but after talking with my teacher about them afterwards I just might go in and try to actually render them over the summer. He was pretty excited about my progress, which makes me sort of excited ENOUGH to go back and try to tighten them up, BUT I need a break from them for a bit, lol.

This is my night time scene up above, it's supposed to be magical and my emotion I wanted to try to convey was Fear (but with a hint of happy magicalness. lol)

This is my day scene. I think this one was more successful then my night painting. I think it has some good stuff going on, but still of course needs work. The emotion I was going for was Calm.

Self Portrait for Figure Painting class

Hey Guys! So, this semester is just about up for me. I have one more final and then it's my official summer break!! Which means so much free time to work on my sketchbook; I am very excited to start. Can't wait!

Innywho, I decided to take a slight break and add a couple of semester projects to my blog. This one is a self portrait that I spent a ton of time on. I don't care for how it came out too much, but I learned a lot just from the process and from the constant fiddling with my complexion, (which I have come to find is overall a sort of a yellow ochre lol).

I took pictures of my progress and everyone's portrait from the class was hanging on the wall of the first floor of the art building. This was my first class (also my first time working with oil paints). It was a great class and I had so much fun! :)

I just want to say how much I love Becky and Lucy's (the twins, one's above and the other is below) portraits and their style, I kept looking at their paintings for inspiration throughout the whole class time. (Becky has no bangs, Lucy has bangs...pretty sure. Lol.)
